Communist Party of India

The Communist Party of India is a political party in India, but there are questions as to when exactly the political party was founded and established. Some say that it began in the year 1925, while others say that it was founded in 1920.

This political party was originally a member of the Indian National Congress, but due to differences in opinions and the fact that they have cooperated with the war effort of WWII, their group was pushed out of the congress. The Communist Party of India then started some agrarian revolution in Telengana were there were some violent attacks, but they were thwarted by the government. Defeated but not bowed down, they went back to politics and created their own government in the Kerala State. But then again, they were once again removed from power by the government.

When the Sino-Soviet Rift took place, the political party was divided into two, one of which is the Communist Party of India Marxist wing, which later emerged as the more powerful and more influential of the two. Now, the Marxist wing of the Communist Party of India has become the major partner of the leftist coalition government, which is situated in West Bengal. As proof of the party’s strength, they have achieved three successive victories in the elections in India.

Today, the Communist Party of India is considered as the National Party of India. They are very strong in West Bengal as well as Kerala and in some other parts of the country.
